Bridgnorth Market and Daniels Mill

Now a quiet haven for anglers, walkers and wildlife alike, Bridgnorth was once one of Europe's busiest riverports. We visit this historic town on market day, where over 20 locally based tradespeople sell everything from fresh fruit, veg and jewellery, to potted plants and wood carvings. Includes a visit to Daniels Mill and The Witch on The Water Tearoom. With its earliest reference dating back to the 15th century, the mill remained working until 1957. In 2007, the mill underwent restoration and opened to the public in 2008.

Following the success of their first 1940’s weekend in 2024, the event is returning bigger and better as the town gets more involved with window displays and decorations. Also new for 2025 is the Military Encampment at Idridgehay station, where you’ll find a variety of military vehicles and captivating displays. Back in Wirksworth, you’ll find a traders' village selling various memorabilia and other items, as well as live music and entertainment. *Any passengers wishing to see the encampments must purchase a train ticket, this will allow you to travel from Wirksworth station to Idridgehay and any other stations on the Ecclesbourne railway.

New Brighton and West Kirby

New Brighton gets its name from Liverpool Merchant, James Atherton. In 1830, he purchased much of the area for its excellent beach and views out along the Mersey River, with the aim being to develop it as a desirable residential and watering place for the gentry, much like one of the most elegant seaside resorts of that Regency period, Brighton. Now, New Brighton remains as popular as ever with a strong emphasis on independent shops, bars and restaurants, as well as large investment in its heritage and historical points of interest.
