Mon 6th October – We’re off!
Once pickups have been completed, we head up to Heysham to catch the ferry
to Douglas. Once we arrive in Douglas, it's a short drive along the front to our hotel.
Time to unpack and relax before our evening meal.
Tues 7th October - House of Keys, Port Erin Museum and Train Ride
For our first full day, we start by visiting the former home of the Isle of Man
parliament. Take your seat in the finely restored chamber for a theatrical debate
on setting new island laws and see how early laws developed. Then, it’s on to
the Port Erin Train Museum. Finally, we take a steam engine from the museum
and back into Douglas before boarding the coach once more and heading back
to the hotel.
Wed 8th October - Laxey and Snaefell Summit
We take a steam train ride from Douglas to Laxey before boarding the only
electric mountain railway in the British Isles. On a clear day, you can see
England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales from the 2,000ft summit!
Thurs 9th October - Douglas Horse Tram
A day of leisure in the capital town and a short ride on a horse drawn tram along
the seafront of Douglas.
Fri 10th October - Hometime
We make our way back home to Cheshire.
