Monday 16th September

Set your alarm clocks we are off on a Scottish adventure!

We pick you up from your pickup points in Cheshire and head for the Highlands! We will stop at
Gretna Green for our lunch today before heading off to the hotel, situated on the edge of the
Cairngorms National Park.

Tuesday 17th September – Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh

After breakfast in our hotel, we set off to Inverness to catch the First Scotrail train to Kyle
Lochalsh; an incredible area to explore, packed with stunning Highland scenery, fairytale
castles, quaint villages, and cosy restaurants.

Wednesday 18th September  – Strathspey Steam Railway & the Cairngorms

After breakfast, Aviemore is our destination to catch the Strathspey steam train to Broomhill.
Take in the stunning scenery and soak up the nostalgia. David will meet you with the coach
at Broomhill Station and from here we travel to Cairngorm Mountain Railway for a ride into
the mountains for lunch at the Ptarmigan Restaurant and Bar. The UK’s highest restaurant, a
270° immersive exhibition space and viewing platform. The newly designed restaurant has
been transformed into a light, contemporary space with an open plan gin bar, cosy log fire
and floor to ceiling windows for guests to enjoy the spectacular views of the mountain range

Thursday 19th September – Fort William & Mallaig

A hearty breakfast first in our hotel ready to board the coach for a trip to Fort William. Here
we catch the Scotrail train to Mallaig, a port in Morar, on the west coast of the Highlands of
Scotland. It faces Skye from across the Sound of Sleat. The local railway station is the
terminus of the West Highland Line (Fort William and Mallaig branch), and the town is
linked to Fort William by the A830 road – the "Road to the Isles"(this is how David will get
to you!). Time to explore and have lunch in this harbour town. The Mallaig railway was used
during the filming of the Harry Potter series of films, and the Hogwarts Express could often
be seen in the summer during periods of filming.
